It is the Cheltenham accumulator everybody is talking about: even artificial intelligence has predicted these five selections as the horses most likely to win at Cheltenham Festival 2025!

Kopek Des Bordes, The Supreme Novices Hurdle, Tuesday March 11th

Huge Willie Mullins banker horse for the first race on Day 1 of Cheltenham Festival 2025, and the first of three mighty Cheltenham bankers in the space of 2 hours.

The County Carlow handler actually admitted that Koped Des Bordes “blew his mind” after the stunning victory the horse displayed in the Grade 1 at Leopardstown last month.

This will be a major shock if this first Mullins leviathan of the Festival fails to oblige. Romeo Coolio and Salvator Mundi are biggest dangers.

Best odds of 5/6 with William Hill.

Majborough, The Arkle Chase, Tuesday March 11th

Since the withdrawal of long time antepost favourite Sir Gino, this Willie Mullins trained entry has taken a firm grip at the top of the market for this 2 mile novice chase championship.

Since winning the Triumph Hurdle at the last Festival, Majborough has gone from strength to strength, most noticeably in his latest start, thumping a quality field in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown.

Some even think he would have beaten Sir Gino. It will take something special or a fall to stop this JP McManus owned entry from winning the Arkle. Best odds of 8/15 with Bet365, William Hill, Betfred and Boylesports.

Constitution Hill, The Champion Hurdle, Tuesday March 11th

It was all doom and gloom this time last year for Nicky Henderson’s yard as an illness took a grip resulting in most of Seven Barrows’ key entries being withdrawn at the last minute, including Constitution Hill.

However, the 2023 Champion Hurdler has reaffirmed his status as one of the greatest hurdlers of all time with an effective victory over Lossiemouth in The Christmas Hurdle and course and distance victory in the Unibet Hurdle in January, despite the last-minute fluff at the last hurdle.

The final gallop at Kempton last week finalised preparations. Brighterdaysahead is a worthy rival, but she should he taken care of after the second last, based on Constitution Hill’s blistering turn of pace going up the Cheltenham hill.

8/13 best odds with Bet365, Betfred and Boylesports.

Jonbon, The Champion Chase, Wednesday 13th March

The JP McManus owned half brother to Douvan has developed significantly from the quirky hurdler who was on the receiving end of a 22 length battering from stable mate Constitution Hill in the 2022 Supreme Novices Hurdle.

This season he comes into this Champion Chase as a smart chaser with plenty of speed, jumping prowess and great battling qualities. Five wins on the bounce including four grade ones is testament to that.

His latest start beating Energumene by six lengths in the Ascot Clarence House Chase demonstrated that he stays effectively also. The only niggling doubt is the notion that the horse may need to work harder on the Cheltenham course and distance.

His win in the Shloer Chase last autumn was a laboured effort over ordinary rivals and that performance would not be enough to win. However, vast improvement is expected, and the ground should be ideal. Solness is a possible danger.

Best odds 4/5 Bet Victor.

Galopin Des Champs, The Cheltenham Gold Cup, Friday 14th March

The Willie Mullins trained dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner needs no introduction. The runaway winner of The Irish Gold Cup faces on paper a relatively easy task to win a third consecutive Gold Cup.

The opposition is one of the weakest I have seen for some years. The main danger comes from Banbridge, who stayed on impressively to beat the talented Il Est Francais in The King George.

Galopin Des Champs needs to turn up, get into his rhythm and jump the fences to bring the house down on Day 4 of The Cheltenham Festival.
